Saints Soccer - The beginning...

We didn’t Lose!! Saints always win!!!

We broke down on the way on I75, 16 miles North of Forsyth at the 199 mile marker. In the middle of nowhere. This is another God story, so get ready.

Well Thomas Hughes was driving. We had past a 5 car wreck and went through 20 minutes of backed up traffic, when Ralph smelled something funny. Pretty soon we all smelled something like anti-freeze. Well Thomas pulled over. It turned out to be a hose or something under the bus. So we began trying to figure a way to the game and home. We never made it to the game.

Well we couldn’t secure rental cars. etc so here’s what happened. While all the below was happening, I was on the phone with rental cars, our AD, and road side service. Jake L was contacting his dad in Macon. God was preparing the way. And picture this, we had 10 soccer players on the side of I75 making semis honk, while I was talking on the phone. (2 hours passed I think)

First God sends a fellow named Bruce who is an arson officer. He turns around at the next exit, goes south bound on I75, and back north bound to put lights on us. The sheriff never came. He parks right behind us in his red truck with his lights on. He turned out to be a pastor of a church somewhere.

Next, a local man comes up, who is a member of a local church. He asks if we wanted him to go get his small bus and take our team to his church to get off the road. So he goes gets his bus and takes to his church. His name was Phil Brown of First Baptist Church of High Falls.

Meanwhile, Jake’s dad (Louis), who is in Macon, has found a nephew (Greg Black) who can come pick us in a big Bluebird church bus. He would be able to pick us up in about 40 minutes.

Well the church was on Exit 198, (High Falls) . We got out at the church and they practiced soccer until Louis and Greg showed up. It was probably 15 minutes before they showed up. We hopped on the bus, thanked Phil, and went 1 mile down the road to see the High Falls. We walked down a few trails.

Next Greg drove us all the way to Albany. We got to Albany around 11:00. Greg still had to go back home. Greg and I had a very good conversation on the way home. He was a very spiritual person and I learned alot from him.

So the bottom line, God sent his people to help the team. Nothing I tried to organize accomplished anything, but what He did through his people was amazing. If you have read this blog, it is the same story over and over. Finally, this is more evidence God is pulling the strings around this team.

There are no coincidences.
